Why do you charge for voicemail?

We charge for voicemail because we have to pay the phone company and because there are costs associated with voicemail-to-text transcription and running a voicemail platform and app. We could pay for all that by making you watch ads – but who wants that! We’ve decided to charge and be ad-free forever instead.

How much does YouVOXX Voicemail cost?

There are two YouVOXX Social Voicemail service plans: Voicemail Basic & Voicemail Premium.  Both plans offer a Free 30-Day trial that you can cancel at anytime.

Voicemail Basic offers you a Pay-as-You-Go approach that’s perfect for people who don’t get a lot of voicemails – but who want a great voicemail experience when they do get voicemails.  After your 30-Day trial we will automatically add 50 Voicemail Power Ups to your account and charge your credit card $4.88.  1 Power Up = 1 Voicemail. Then, whenever your account gets down to 10 voicemails remaining, we’ll automatically let you know and add another 50 Voicemail Power Ups.  There are no monthly or annual fees.  With Voicemail Basic you only pay for what you use instead of paying a flat fee every month regardless of how many voicemails you get!

Learn more about Power Ups

Voicemail Premium is $8.99 per month and includes all of the features of the Basic plan – plus a number of other special features.  The Premium Voicemail plan also includes UNLIMITED voicemails each month – so there are no Voicemail Power Ups to worry about.

What Carriers does YouVOXX support?

Actually, the carriers decide whether or not their customers can use third-party voicemail providers like YouVOXX.

AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon fully support YouVOXX Social Voicemail. T-Mobile also supports YouVOXX – but only on their post-paid plans (the ones where you get a bill to pay for what you used during the previous month).

T-Mobile pre-paid plans and other pre-paid carriers like Boost, Virgin, MetroPCS and others do not allow their customers to use third-party voicemail providers like YouVOXX.

Can I migrate my old carrier voicemails to YouVOXX?

Unfortunately that cannot be done. Voicemails you received before YouVOXX are on your carrier’s voicemail system and only you and your carrier can access them. You can still listen to those old voicemails using your old voicemail app, but all new voicemails will come to YouVOXX.

I’m having problems getting my voicemails. What should I do?

A quick solution to try first is to sign out and the sign back in. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Main Menu (swipe right or tap the 3-bar icon in the upper left).
  2. Select the Settings tab and scroll all the way down to the Sign Out button. Tap it and answer yes when the popup appears.
  3. Then Sign In as normal.

If that doesn’t solve the problem, please send us a Support request and we’ll give you a hand.

Why aren’t my voicemails being transcribed?

A Transcription Unavailable message is usually the result of the voicemail recording being too poor for the transcription technology to transcribe the message. The reason could be because the speaker is too far from the mouthpiece when they left the message, a heavy accent or even a dialect that the technology is still learning, etc. Even if the recording cannot be transcribed, we still send you the audio file so you can listen to the voicemail. Just tap the play button to listen to the voicemail even if the transcription did not process.

What is a SEND-2-VOICEMAIL number?

When you get a call on your regular phone number that you do not answer, it rings the phone and then goes to voicemail like normal.  But calls to your SEND-2-VOICEMAIL phone number will go straight to voicemail without ringing your phone in the process.

There are some calls from people that you are just never going to answer.  Give those callers your SEND-2-VOICEMAIL number and they’ll slip quietly into voicemail.  Then you can check their message whenever you want – without the inconvenience of an ill-timed, ringing phone!

Where can I find my SEND-2-VOICEMAIL number?

You can find your SEND-2-VOICEMAIL number in the Account tab. Just go to the Main Menu (swipe right or tap the three bar icon) and then go to Account.

Your SEND-2-VOICEMAILnumber is also displayed as the first entry in the Contaxx tab.

Of course, messages that you deleted or that expired after setting Message Melt will not be available in MAXXCache since you deleted those messages.
